2007 SWEATSHOP AWARDS
FairWear
the 2007 Sweatshop Awards for excellence in avoiding transparency and accountability
VOTE ONLINE at www.sweatshopaward.com to choose your favourite label to win this prestigious award.
The annual Sweatshop Award is given to an Australian company who has excelled in non-compliance and avoiding FairWear’s efforts to make the garment industry fairer for home-based outworkers.
Companies that have been nominated have shown exceptional innovation in ignoring the Textile, Clothing and Footwear Union of Australia, the FairWear campaign and other groups who have asked them repeatedly to become accredited to the Homeworkers Code of Practice after they have been either found in factories that have been prosecuted or actually prosecuted themselves for failing to comply with the outworker provisions of the Federal Clothing Award.
Make sure you are invited to the glamorous awards ceremony (see www.sweatshopaward.com website for invite) where one lucky label will be honoured with the impressive sweatshop trophy.
Please be patient as the website takes around 30 seconds to load all of its wonderful art-work. Vote as many times as you like.
See you at Awards Night!
